Ever have to go to a Dinner Party directly from work? It is quite difficult to select an outfit that will be appropriate for both day and night. There are plenty of options though; you just have to be creative. For example, think about wearing a sophisticated dress with a suit jacket for work. Then take the jacket off, add some jewelry and boots and you have a new look. Below I paired a sharp black and red dress with a blazer and heels for the daytime hours. Then for evening wear, I removed the jacket and added boots and a knitted sweater. You could even add a thicker belt to make the dress “pop” more.
Here is another look. This is a black and white dress that can be nicely paired with a blazer for a day time look. To sharpen this look up for evening wear, you just need to add a thick belt (shown below) with a nice pair of heels and some jewelry.
Both of these looks make it easy to go from the office to a dinner party. Now, if you prefer pants, we can dress those up as well! Why not try a suit with jacket that has color-blocking? Pair it with a matching pant with black bonded lace that is a slightly fitted ankle-length pant. Underneath add a black sheer blouse with a pleated appliqué. You can remove the jacket for the evening hours and have an amazing look! Just add a nice necklace to finish the look off.
Another great look is a stretch paisley jacquard suit. This gives a beautiful texture and look to a traditional black suit. The pants are a slim leg ankle pant. Underneath you can wear an A-Line top (tucked in during the day) pleated tank. Take the jacket off for the evening hours and un-tuck the blouse. Just add some jewelry (earrings and bracelets), and you have an amazing and unique “night out on the town” look.
